Serengeti National Park
Safari Highlights:
Visit
one of the new Seven Wonders of the
World - Serengeti. This famous Park
contains more than 3 million large
mammals and all the attendant
predators.
Track the great Migration of
wildebeest and zebra as they plunge
through crocodile-infested rivers
and navigate the hiding places of
ever-watchful lion and cheetah on
the vast, kopje-dotted plains during
their long and danger-filled journey
to rebirth and renewal at Ndutu on
the border of Ngorongoro
Conservation Area.
Then starts the
inexorable journey back, across now
drying and sun-scorched grasslands,
towards the golden horizon.
Drive across the endless plains amid
great herds of buffalo, smaller
groups of elephant and giraffe,
thousands of Grant’s & Thomson’s
gazelle, eland, topi, kongoni and
impala.
Look up to the sky, down on the
ground and into the trees to spot
birds of all shapes and sizes: from
ostrich, secretary bird and eagle to tiny
sunbirds and a myriad other
brilliantly-hued avians.
Discover Serengeti National Park,
which covers 14,763 sq. km and
stretches from Ngorongoro in the
south to Kenya in the north,
bordering Lake Victoria to the west.
Tag along with the great migration from December through
July; to see predators, the months
of June through October are
excellent. Hot air balloon safaris
over the Serengeti plains can be
arranged.
Enjoy
the comfort of your nights on safari
with AFRICAT, in
Lodges & Camps,
both within and outside the parks.
For following the great migration,
we use mobile camps, which enable us
to stay very close to the herds.
