Trekking Details

PARK GATE - MIRIAKAMBA HUT (8,100 FT)
Marvel at the abundant wildlife and exotic birds as you walk with your Ranger Guide up the fertile slopes of Mount Meru, passing large herds of buffalo on the way. After a trek of 4 to 5 hours, you will reach Miriakamba Hut, your home for tonight.

MIRIAKAMBA HUT - SADDLE HUT (11,480 FT)
Awake to birdsong and continue your trek up the mountain, passing through the forest. A walk of 3 to 4 hours will bring you to Saddle Hut, where you can eat, relax and sleep until midnight.

SADDLE HUT - SUMMIT (15,000 FT) - MIRIAKAMBA HUT (8,100 FT)
Grab a quick snack at midnight before starting your climb to the summit. Follow your guide closely as you ascend by narrow pathways around the crater rim. This summit climb takes approximately 6 hours; relax and greet the rising sun from your high vantage point.

Take your time on the leisurely descent to Miriakamba Hut; admire the magnificent flora and fauna which surround you and absorb the scenic beauty along with the clear, sharp mountain air.

Bid farewell to Meru this morning as you make your final descent, reaching the park gate before lunchtime.
