This is a philosophy developed
by the ‘born in Africa - based in America’ Africat
Adventures team. Under this approach, local people
participate in the delivery of tourism services thus earning
for themselves income at the village level.
Some of the services which they undertake are to act as
guides, to supply baggage donkeys and camels for
safaris/treks and providing local food and artifacts to
village visitors.
In Africat’s second home of Mto wa Mbu, we have
established several sustainable projects within the
community.
One of the most important of these in the eyes of our Maasai
neighbours is the future provision of a workable water
supply line (at present we supply them by truck).
